What is related,
and how.
Congress, the Federal Election Commission and other federal offices each publish their own records: bills and votes, hearings, lobbying filings, campaign finance reports, financial disclosures and budget analyses. Undercurrent collects them and ties each record to the bill, member or committee it names, so records about the same thing are linked across publishers.
Undercurrent is in development. Explore the analysis preview, built from official U.S. government records.

How to trace
a connection.
Records are joined on the identifiers their publishers assign, such as bill numbers and the ID Congress gives each member, never on a guess at a name.
- The connection Two records that carry the same identifier.
- What it rests on The identifier itself, and which publishers' records it joins.
- The original record A link to the official publication, as it was issued.
